The candidate in this role is responsible for making significant contributions to the creation and commercial realization of new products from Cabot’s Performance Additives business, focusing on applications such as Coatings, Sealants, Elastomers, and Plastics. She/he is responsible for managing the process to resolve technical problems of significant complexity and influence major programs involving multiple areas of specialization, regions, and/or cross-functionality. This is a manager role where the candidate is responsible for a small group of scientists, engineers, and technicians; partnering with the marketing function to recognize and interpret emerging trends and provide appropriate strategic direction for the team. Works under limited supervision to follow experimental protocols to perform complex chemical laboratory operations related to compounding, molding, and testing of plastic products, formulations and applications with emphasis on safety and data reliability. Carries out experimental benchmarking of product performance and applications issues of Cabot and competitive products. Writes experimental protocols and reports experimental data in technical reports. May provide training and/or technical guidance to technicians.
